About Dr. Iichiroh Ohhira, Ph.D
Developer of Probiotic OMX Supplement
Dr. Iichiroh Ohhira, Ph.D, a distinguished professor and research scientist who has lectured at universities in Malaysia, Korea, and Japan, has authored or coauthored more than 20 scientific research studies on lactic acid bacteria.
Dr. Ohhira has conducted research studies at Kagawa Medical College in Japan and is a respected member of the Japanese Agricultural Chemistry Association and Japanese Microbiology Association. In addition, Dr. Ohhira is a member of the New York Academy of Science and serves as the technical advisor on agricultural and environmental issues to the government of Chegda, Suchuan, China.
Dr. Ohhira together with an eminent advisory professor and a team of distinguished research scientists at Okayama University in Japan, researched and developed a high-tech dietary supplement known as Probiotics OMX formulated to restore and maintain a healthy immune system and promote good health.
We know that antibiotics, one of the wonder drugs of the 20th century, have helped conquer many diseases that previously resulted in death or disablement. We now know, however, that antibiotics have limitations and their use and misuse has frequently led to ill health. There are also a number of viruses and bacteria that have developed partial or total resistance to some antibiotics.
Further, "wide-spectrum" antibiotics don't usually distinguish between the "good" and "bad" bacteria. They kill the good along with the bad bacteria and this indiscriminate killing of bacteria may be one of the worst side effects of using antibiotics.
The use of antibiotics inhibit the good bacteria along with the bad, thus permitting bad bacteria to invade the digestive tract and multiply in high numbers that disturb the delicate balance between the good and bad bacteria. This balance is also upset by:
- the use of oral contraceptives,
- exposure to radiation through x-rays and radiation therapy,
- excessive consumption of chlorinated water,
- the consumption of refined sugars and other refined foods,
- poor digestion,
- poor elimination of waste,
- stress and
- an unhealthy diet.
Simply introducing friendly bacteria in large numbers will not resolve the situation because an unfavorable colonic condition has already been created. Such a condition is conducive to the proliferation of harmful bacteria.
After studying human health for decades, Dr. Ohhira has concluded that an important approach to good health is to remove the harmful bacteria from the colon by creating an exclusive condition (an acidic pH) that is only conducive for the proliferation of friendly bacteria. Dr. Ohhira further believes that unless the harmful bacteria are totally eradicated in a natural manner, good health cannot be established and maintained.
Dr. Ohhira developed the award-winning probiotic product called OMX Probiotics twelve plus that:
- recolonizes the microflora in the digestive tract,
- enhances the immune system, and
- promotes good health.
The transient, combative TH 10 lactic acid bacteria may be the most important strain of bacteria in Dr. Ohhira's product because of its ability to kill and eliminate harmful bacteria found in the colon.
TH 10 also aids in the removal of toxins produced in the colon by the bad bacteria. After consumption, the TH 10 bacteria reside in the GI tract for an extended period of time where they flourish and coexist with the "colonizer" bacteria, like the lactobacillus and bifidobacteria strains that inhabit the intestinal walls and aid in digestion and the absorption of nutrients.
The Japanese Dairy and Food Association selected Dr. Ohhira probiotics OMX as the "Best Product" of 1991. OMX Probiotic also received the "International Best Alternative Medicine Gold Medal" from the Euro East West Intellect at the Global Health Manille '98, a World Congress and Exposition on Integrative Healing. The Japanese Dairy and Food Association recognized Dr. Ohhira as the "Scientist of the Year" and he is honored as being the developer of the E. faecalis TH 10 strain of bacteria.
During the five year production period, the creation of the four organic acids---acetic, formic, fumaric and lactic---are carefully monitored. Daily inspections of Probiotic omx are conducted to determine the pH and nutrient levels of the fermentation product and to guard against contamination. Inspections also assure compliance with stringent Japanese good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards. OMX Probiotic is analyzed by Japan Food Research Laboratories, which is authorized by the Japanese Government. Only when OMX Probiotic accumulates a scientifically preordained level of organic acids is the raw paste ready for encapsulation. The highly regarded Fuji Capsule Company Limited of Japan provides the high-tech encapsulation of the product.
Dr. Ohhira has developed a special outer capsule that permits OMX Probiotics to remain highly viable with a stable shelf life of more than five years when properly handled and stored. Unlike other probiotics, OMX probiotic contains 12 strains of friendly "live" lactic acid bacteria (number in the hundreds of millions), vitamins, minerals, amino acids, organic acids and important natural by-products.
When OMX Probiotics twelve plus is encapsulated the product is guaranteed to contain those "listed" nutrients, although the actual levels of vitamins, minerals and amino acids may vary slightly among batches due to the natural variation of ingredients.
We stock the professional line of OMX probiotics. These OMX probiotics have been fermented for 5 years instead of three. The OMX probiotics twelve plus professional formula also contain more robust organic acids which modify the pH of the colon allowing for greater cohesion and proliferation of the LAB strains. People with severely compromised immune systems or GI tract health conditions receive benefit from this. Due to their dysbiosis the imbalance of micro-flora and colonic pH in the colon causes fewer colonies of friendly flora and organic acids, creating an environment which is highly alkaline and containing a high number of harmful bacteria and other detrimental microorganisms.
