- Drink a lot of alcohol
- Eat a lot of sugar

Did you know that if you do just one of these system stressors on a regular basis, your gut health could be compromised. Before your immune system gets out of wack, consider taking probiotics.
- 10 times the strength of the average probiotic
- Proprietary blend of 8 strains of live probiotic bacteria; multiple bacteria strains taken simultaneously provide a wider range of benefits than single strain probiotics.
- The effects of probiotics are very strain specific; the strains of VSL#3 are backed by more than 170 published studies
- Greater potency which ensures that bacteria survive the stomach acid and bile to colonize in your gut.
- VSL #3 is now dairy-free for those people who suffer from milk allergies or lactose intolerance.
In 2014 the World Health Organization defined Probiotics as “live microorganisms which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.” VSL#3 meets the definition of a probiotic.

Press Release provided by PR Newswire tells us that VSL3 Probiotic is now Dairy Free. This has not been the case up until their recent move of manufacture to Italy.
VSL#3 Probiotics representative has announced that VSL Pharmaceuticals has relocated the manufacture of their probiotic medical food VSL#3 back to Italy so that they can remove all traces of dairy from the process. According to their press release it makes them the only dairy-free probiotic medical food available.
What is VSL#3 Probiotic?
The press release goes on to explain that VSL#3 (VSL Pharmaceuticals) is a probiotic medical food for the dietary management of patients with ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and ileal pouch.
They say that the move to make it diary-free will enable those patients who also suffer from milk allergies or lactose intolerance to be able to use VSL#3.
Mary Ocnean, vice president of commercial operations at Sigma-Tau Healthscience USA Inc., VSL#3’s U.S. distributor, says, “As demand for the VSL#3 brand continues, we have more consumers and recommenders talking about VSL#3 and giving us great feedback over the years, including some questions around the dairy component.”
“Moving VSL#3 back to the original manufacturing facility in Italy allowed the brand to revert back to an established process that removes all dairy while maintaining the original proprietary mix of eight strains of live bacteria.”
“The new manufacturing process will also be more efficient and stabilize pricing.”
She says that the relocation will enable packaging improvements to help maintain potency, including a new cap to replace the peel-off covering, and they are using thicker powder packets or sachets.
Ocnean adds that a trace amount of cornstarch has also been added to the product to reduce moisture and maintain potency,. This may be an area of concern for those patients who have corn allergies and previously used VSL3 capsules or their discontinued flavored packets that did not contain corn starch before the change was made to making VSL3 dairy-free.
