Solar Cooking is the Best

A solar cooker is a device which uses the energy of direct sunlight to heat, cook or pasteurize food or drink.

Lots of solar cookers are presently in use and are relatively inexpensive, low-tech devices, although some are as powerful or as expensive as traditional stoves. In fact, advanced, large-scale solar cookers can cook for hundreds of people.

Because of the fact that they use no fuel and cost nothing to operate, many non-profit organizations are advocating their use worldwide so as to help reduce fuel costs (for low-income people) and air pollution, and also to slow down the deforestation and desertification caused by gathering firewood for cooking.

Solar cooking is a form of outdoor cooking and is very often used in situations where minimal fuel consumption is important, or the danger of accidental fires is high, and the health and environmental consequences of alternatives are severe.

There are many types of solar cookers in existence. These include parabolic solar cookers, solar ovens, and panel cookers, among others.

A solar cooker is a device which uses the energy of direct sunlight to heat, cook or pasteurize food or drink.

Cooking with a solar cooker is very easy… it’s fun, natural, and even nutritious. Its very well suited for everyday use on your patio or even in your back yard. It’s so helpful to use at picnics and when camping. And then there’s the wonderful safety aspect that you can rely on in the event of a power failure.

In summer, if you cook outside, you can help to keep your home cool.

Another way to use a solar oven is as a slow cooker. Say you prepare your dinner and place it in the oven and point it to the where the sun will be approximately halfway through in the time you will be away. Then you can leave and come home to a tasty, slow-cooked dinner. What’s more, if you run late, no problem, the solar oven will keep your food warm and moist for hours.
