Lovely Legs
How much hesperidin dose it contain?

Lovely Legs is the original 95% diosmin formula supported by extensive human clinical research.
Diosmin is a flavonoid that can be sourced from various plants or derived from the flavonoid hesperidin.
Diosmin can be manufactured by extracting hesperidin from citrus rinds, followed by conversion of hesperidin to diosmin.
The process begins with hesperidin from Citrus sinensis (sweet oranges).
The oxidation of highly pure hesperidin leads to diosmin.
Finally the crude diosmin obtained is washed in an alkaline medium and then purified by filtration.
The result is a 95% diosmin product that has a higher level of purity than the 90% diosmin products currently on the market.

Raw Iron
What type of Iron is this?

Garden of Life does not have a list of the forms of each of our vitamins and minerals unless otherwise stated on the label.
The iron is in a whole food form and is RAW Food-Created.  All of the iron is elemental iron.

The vitamins and minerals included in their Vitamin Code formulas are delivered in a whole food form as RAW Food-Created Nutrients.  The vitamins and minerals are produced through a fermentation process prior to going through Grows process as described below.

They “grow” the vitamins via their proprietary dual cultivation process using yeast and probiotics.
This process utilizes a single isolated vitamin or mineral that is fed to the yeast or probiotic.
A specific peptide designed for that particular nutrient is then introduced in order to allow the nutrient to be metabolized (or absorbed) through the yeast’s cell wall.

This process mimics nature, just like when a plant takes an inorganic mineral salt that is naturally occurring in the soil (selenium for example), and absorbs it into its roots, the plant becomes rich in selenium.
This process is conducted with two distinct organisms – S. cerevisiae (baker’s yeast) and L. bulgaricus (probiotic culture used in traditional yogurt recipes which is non-dairy).
RAW Food-Created Nutrients are delivered “body ready”.

Barley contains gluten. How is this gluten free?

Gluten containing grains such as wheat, barley and rye, (the so-called “prohibited grains”) are not included in any of our dietary supplements; in the case of cereal grasses, they utilize the grasses (not the grain), which are cut early before gluten is formed.

Garden of Life products that are exposed to or derived from a “prohibited grain” have specifically been tested for gluten content and results have confirmed that they meet the FDA’s proposed criteria for such labeling.  They only feel comfortable labeling a product as gluten free after verifying these test results and receiving proper documentation for such a claim and of course if there are no gluten containing ingredients in the formula.

Their formulas and labels are reviewed and updated regularly.  They are committed to our customer’s health and well being, and we actively monitor the quality of our products in addition to the accuracy of our labels.
Labels may change based on batch testing and consumers need to read the actual label on the bottle they purchase to verify whether a product of ours is gluten free.  For those with Celiac Disease or a serious gluten allergy it is always best for them to get the approval from their doctors before trying any new supplements even when they are tested as being gluten free.

Primal Defense kids 76.8 powder
Does it contain Soy?

The Kids Primal Defense has traces of soy in it. It is Vegetarian, and Gluten Free

Super Seed 600 gram powder
Since ground flax needs to be frozen or refrigerated to keep from going rancid, Does this need to be frozen or refrigerated?

No. Super Seed does not required refrigeration and Garden of Life suggests storing the product in a cool dry place such as a kitchen cabinet/pantry. The refrigerator and freezer have a lot of moisture, so they suggest storing the products as directed.
It is the oil in the flax seeds that causes rancidity and the flax seeds that Garden of Life use are de-fatted, thus preventing the product from becoming rancid easily.
