Parasitology - Direct Exam

Evaluates specimens macroscopically for the presence of intestinal parasites. The fluid containing the specimen is reviewed microscopically with an iodine stain for presence of ova. These specimens consist of suspected parasites from the GI tract and are collected without gross stool present. Macroscopic/microscopic exam without EIA for Giardia, Cryptosporidium or E. histolytica.
